GLOBAL VOTE, BIG HEADLINES, BUT WHAT ACTUALLY CHANGES
Over 100 countries recently voted to recognize the transatlantic slave trade as one of the gravest crimes against humanity, and to advance conversations around reparations.
It sounds powerful.
But here is what matters.
THE REALITY
The countries expected to pay largely did not support it.
The United States voted no, several powerful nations abstained, and the resolution is non binding.
That means no required payments, no enforcement, no immediate change in conditions.
SO WHAT IS THIS REALLY
This is not action, this is positioning.
It is a global acknowledgment of harm, without a system to measure repair.
THE PATTERN
We have seen this before, recognition of harm, strong language, public attention, no measurable outcome.
And over time, communities still face the same conditions, housing gaps, health disparities, economic inequality, education gaps.
THIS IS WHERE THE BLACK WALL COMES IN
The problem is not just acknowledgment, the problem is no accountability system tied to outcomes.
The Black Wall tracks what policies were passed, where the money went, and what actually changed in the community.
BOTTOM LINE
Global conversations are happening.
But until outcomes are measured, nothing is proven, nothing is enforced, nothing truly changes.
QUESTION
If billions can be discussed, why are we not measuring what is already being spent in our communities
